Founder's Story

I've spent my entire professional career in service in one form or another and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I started out as an hourly foodservice worker in Operations and after many years as a server and later a restaurant manager, I gravitated to the people side of the business. I particularly loved training and development and found that I had both a passion and a knack for leadership development and for resolving complex workplace conflict.

After working in Operations for close to a decade while I obtained my Bachelor's degree in HR Management, I found a great fit as an HR Director. I flourished in the role. After many successful years though, I eventually became frustrated when I was compelled to turn over employment matters to an attorney when an employee "lawyered up." I yearned to be able to see the issues through to resolution. Accordingly, I went to law school and became an attorney.

Knowing that I ultimately wanted to blend my experience in Ops, HR and Legal as a Chief People Officer/Chief Legal Officer in the industry I loved, I worked as a private practice attorney for a time to gain the critical litigation experience I would need to be proficient in preventing and defending employment issues for my company. For over a decade now, I've worked as the CPO for some of the foodservice industry's top brands.

Today, I thoroughly enjoy my blended career, which allows me to work on a wide variety of HR projects from creating programs for leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement to executive coaching, conducting employee investigations, training on Anti-Harassment/Anti-Discrimination and lowering employer risk through ensuring sound employment practices and so much more.
